For the last one or two years i had been looking for a new sport, something different to play, something that needed a slightly different set of skills than your average football, basketball or dodgeball.

I even thought of maybe having a crack at inventing/designing my own sport. I looked to the internet for inspiration and eventually tripped over an obscure sport from Helsinki called LEET. It looked like a good idea.

They gave me some equipment, my own stick. Awesome. Easy to use. Well designed. But a single stick does not a game make.

time passes.

I finish my science degree and while trying to find work I fill in many of the hours practicing against the garage wall in the backyard. Careful not to hurl the ball into next doors yard or further. This game has promise.

I look up the webpage to see what is happening in the world of leet and to my shock and horror, no one is there. the page is still up but no one's home. Now there has been no activity for six months. How Disappointing. What has happened. I put the video of street leet up on my facebook page and finally got some friends interested. Although it seems too late to matter as the game seems to have died off somewhat. And for the life of me i cant seem to get any more equipment.

As a piece of equipment, the leet stick is well designed and easy to use, and it looks attractive.
As a promotional tool, it can be made in any colour [although we only see the black and the yellow] and has advertising space all over it!

The potential of this game is staggering. but the excitement seems very much to have died away. Please tell me Im wrong. I certainly hope that the equipment makes its way to department and sports stores which will increase its availability to a point where anyone can just walk into a shop and buy a stick [what ever colour they like] and a set of balls of varying colours. I believe this is the next logical step. Get the sport into the high schools and universities. get it into the hands of a sports crazy nation like Australia.

Id just like to be able to have a game with some friends. but from the lack of activity on this site, and all the leet sites on the net, i dont think that will happen any time soon.

well, it seemed like a good idea.

Please tell me im wrong.... this looks like a very cool game/sport
